Domain name disputes concerning .com, .net and .org has increased by 48% since 2005 in terms of the Uniform Name Dispute Resolution Procedure (UDRP).

The increase is due to:

  • Rise in pay-per-click advertising where cybersquatters link the domain name they have registered with a website containing ads promoting a variety of competing brands.  The cybersquatter receives money every time internet users access this website and click on one of the ads.

  • Domain tasting is where cybersquatters register a number of domain names and wait several days before they pay for them.  The domain names that attract the most attention are the only ones for which they pay. The remaining names are deleted, but the time between the cybersquatter registering and paying (or doesn’t pay) the domain name is considered to be registered.

  • Cybersquatters use privacy services to register domain names and they remain anonymous to the general public.  This has the trademark proprietors seeking their identity and wasting a lot of time, money and energy.

To prevent these problems companies need to develop a domain name registration and conflict policy, which clearly identifies relevant criteria to figure out which domain names should be registered, whose responsibility this is and in which countries they should be registered.

I have an large portfolio of 24, 247, 365 and 360 Domain Names all in the .com space. I have noticed that the 360 Names are by far selling the most frequently and for the highest dollar amounts. New and existing businesses are now branding or re-branding their company with a 360.com Name.

From the sales I am making, and more importantly from the sales I am NOT making (turning down), it is obvious that the 360.com will be the 'Recycling' point of all the major internet keywords. The 24, 247, and

365 will also be big, but the 360 will reign supreme.

Why the 360 above the rest? Simple, the 360 encompasses EVERYTHING there is about the keyword. The whole circle and full spectrum of ALL there is about the keyword it is attached too. In this way it accentuates the keyword BETTER than any other numeric combination.

I regularly sell 360.com domain names now for $x,xxx amounts, all determinant on the value of the keyword. My recent sale of Hockey360.com fetched $5,000 and am currently in final Escrow for Derby360.com and Racing360.com for $9,000 Total.

The history of domain sales on the internet has shown that the more Global, or 'Generic' the keyword, the more money it is worth. Every domain name that has sold for over $1 million in the history of the internet (shy of maybe one) has had 2 criteria;

1) It has been a single word

2) It has been a .com

The alpha-numerics will follow the exact same pattern; a single keyword, accentuated by a 24, 247, 365, or the King of Kings, the 360 and exclusively the .com
